It's been a month since Kari Kamiya had begun to go out with Davis Motomiya. Ever since that fatal day, thirteen year-old Takeru "TK" Takaishi had been w wreck. He spent less time with the DigiDestined and more with himself, after all, they had not been needed to protect the Digital World since they defeated MaloMyotismon. 'Ugh.... it's them again, better get away' TK thought as Kari and Davis came walking towards him. The young blonde hid behind a bush and overheard them talking.
"Well, Kari... I may not be able to go with you tonight but, you know I'll still love you.... Forever" Davis said, kissing her cheek. TK felt ready to puke,
'Sad ass liar' he thought angrily.
His heart stopped at Kari's reply. "Yeah, forever. I love you..." she said. Without hesitation, Davis kissed her. Heart-wrenching pain overcame TK's body as he watched closely. Not being able to take it anymore, he slowly got up, careful not to let them see, and walked home. '
Why Kari? Why did I have to fall for you?' the blonde asked himself. He sighed heavily and continued walking. He had no intention of going home, but headed for his brother's apartment.
"Oh, hey TK" Matt greeted, smiling, "What brings you here?" He immediately stopped smiling once he noticed his brother's crest-fallen face. "TK? TK, are you alright? What's wrong?" he asked.
"What would you care if I told you? It won't change a thing!" the younger blonde spat venomously. However, seconds later, he turned and embraced his brother. "Matt! It... it's just so painful. My hearts feels like it's being ripped apart every time I see them together. I don't know how much longer I can hold out" he confessed. Matt led him to the couch. Clearing away, the pile of clothes that had once been on it, he turned to his brother.
"TK... I wish I could say everthing will be alright but, there's no chance you'll belive me" he said. The two sat in an awkward silence for a few minutes, TK's silent sobs the only sound being made. Suddenly, Matt's beeper sounded loudly. "Oh man. TK, I know this is the worst time to leave but, my band needs me. I...." TK got up, wiping the remains of his tears.
"No problem Matt, I'll just walk around for a bit. Goodbye, and thanks for comforting me" he called walking out the door. "
'Kay, thanks for understanding. Go to Tai for help, maybe. He isn't too happy about the relationship either!" Matt shouted.

TK found himself walking towards the Kamiya Apartment. '
Maybe I should talk to Tai...' he thought. He rang the doorbell and the person he had least wanted to see answered it. "Oh.... Umm, hey there Kari. Can... I come in? I wanted to talk to Tai" he stammered, looking down. "Y-yeah, sure TK. I'll call him" she said, "Tai! Come here, someone's here to see you!!" TK looked up just in time to see Tai's puffy brown hair poke out of his room. Tai smiled.
"Alright, come on TK. Let's go to my room" he said, motioning for the blonde to follow him. Once they arrived and had closed the door behind them, TK spoke,
"So, Tai.... I talked to Matt and he said you didn't approve of Kari's... uh... relationship either" Tai nodded.
"Yeah. I mean, who would've thought. Davis? That doesn't sound like my sister at all" TK smiled. He was glad at least her brother didn't approve of her being with Davis either. The two talked for a while, mainly about what they disapproved about the relationship most. They were in the middle of a conversation when they heard Kari's voice talking to Mrs. Kamiya.
"Mom! I'm going over to Davis' house to check on him. He did say he wasn't feeling all too great" Kari said. "Well, okay dear. It's only five thirty so I'll let you go. Be back in an hour, okay?" Mrs. Kamiya replied
"'Kay. Bye mom!!" she said, closing the door behind her. TK looked at Tai, who looked back at him.
"Hmm.... Real fishy" Tai muttered.
"Well, I overheard them and he did say we didn't feel good. But, his tone of voice wasn't very convincing" TK explained. Tai's eyes widened.
"TK, I'd leave to go with you and check up on her but mom probably won't let me. Something about leaving my sister's love life alone" TK nodded and got up to leave. "Oh, and TK?" Tai called, "Do try not to let her get hurt. Not physically but, emotionally"
"Tai, that's the very reason I'm still alive" TK responded. With a quick movement, he was out of the apartment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The cold wind raged against Kari's face as she climbed the stairs toward Davis' apartment.
'It's a good thing he lives close by, otherwise, this wind would've driven me crazy!' she thought. Her mind suddenly switched to TK. His handsome, smiling face was looking at her, but then it faded away replaced by the new TK. Sad, and usually alone now a days. She was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she never noticed the familiar shadow of the blonde now following her closely. She reached for the doorknob and was surprised to find it unlocked. 'Hmm... Davis wouldn't leave the door open like this normally. Wonder what's up?' Kari thought to herself. She stepped into the empty-sounding apartment wearily. "Davis?" she called softly, "Davis are you here?" She opened the door to his room and gasped. It was Davis and a girl from her school named, Michelle Cho. Kari felt hot tears running down her cheeks but didn't bother wiping them. 'Davis and Michelle!? H-how could he do this to me. He said, he'd love me forever!' Kari thought. She let out a small whimper as he kissed Michelle deeply. Davis looked up and drew in a sharp breath.
'Dammit, why is Kari here? Oh no! Michelle!!' he thought frantically. "K-Ka-Kari? W-wha-what are you doin' here?" he stuttered. He got up to say something but she backed away.
"Get back!!" Kari shouted.
"But...but Kari. _I-I..I can expla-" he began.
"I HATE YOU!!!" she cried. With that, she turned and bolted. Kari ran into a cloaked figure on the way but in her distress, she had not, looked up to see who it was. She ran and ran, her thoughts spinning wildly in her head. She heard someone yelling, a loud crash, and a girl scream. Kari had not looked back and ran straight home.
"Kari? KARI!!!" Tai shouted rushing towards her. "Wh-what happened.
"D-Davis tha-that two-timing bastard!!!" she screeched. Mrs. Kamiya led her poor daughter to bed where she quickly fell asleep crying.

K tried to grab Kari as she ran but was too slow. He balled up his fists and ran for Davis' room. "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!?!" he cried, "YOU HURT HER DAVIS. YOU F****** HURT HER!!!!"
"TK? TK please... l-let me explain" Davis stammered.
"NO! HOW DARE YOU EVEN TRY TO EXPLAIN! YOU CALL YOURSELF GENTLEMAN? BULLS***!!!" TK shouted. He was enraged. TK could no longer hold it in. He pulled back his fist and struck Davis in the jaw. The impact was so enormous that Davis was thrown back against the wall. With that, TK stormed off. He ran towards Kari's apartment to explain everything to Tai.
"Tai! Tai get out here I need to talk to you!!!" TK shouted.
"T-TK? I'm glad you came, now... WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!?!" Tai bellowed. TK looked him in the eye and told him everything.
"....And so, that's what happened. Is Kari alright?" Tai nodded.
"Yeah, she cried herself to sleep. But, thanks for what you did TK. I really appreciate it and I know Kari does too. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" The blonde waked home and went straight to his room. He tried to sleep but he tossed and turned, memories in Davis' apartment still kept returning.

(The next day) TK had woken up at around noon. He hurriedly took a shower, got dressed and ran to Matt's house.
"Matt! You won't believe what happened last night...." He said, once again explaining.
"Holy crap TK! I sure hope you nailed him good. After what he did to Kari, I want a piece of him too!" Matt cried. The two continued to talk, until TK had to get going.
"Well, she still doesn't know how I feel, or that I followed her" TK explained, "What do I do?"
"Well, TK. You love her more than anything right? Then, write her a song, you can sing in on my next concert, you know, the one on Sunday?" Matt suggested. TK nodded and got straight to work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Sunday Night) The stadium was packed. The seats were quickly filled as the lights dimmed. Matt walked onto the stage and motioned everyone to be quiet, mainly his fans.
"Well everyone," he began, "I told you I was going to have a mystery guest to sing the first song and here he is, please welcome my younger brother..... TK Takaishi!!!" The DigiDestined gasped. Even though Kari was still upset, she couldn't help but eye him from head to toe. He looked like a modern god! TK spiked his hair and wore black pants with a deep blue shirt.
"ahem... well, I wanted to do something special for a someone I care for very much, this song is dedicated to Kari Kamiya... here it is, More Than That"

The song ended followed by a great silence.
"Kari Kamiya, I will love you more than that" TK said. In tears, the chestnut-haired girl ran up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Oh TK! I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. I love you too!!" she cried. The whole stadium erupted with cheers. Not waiting for them to stop, the two kissed. The applause became even louder and yet they just stood, kissing each other, relishing in the warmth of one another's love.
